President's message May

Flying Fifteen Association of Ireland.

As the Covid-19 virus continues to affect all of us I do hope that you are all staying safe.

Events and advice regarding the virus have continued and we have all to follow the most up to date local Government Guidelines.

We are still of the view that there is no need for us to cancel any other events this far in advance as realistically we would be able to mobalise to go to an event at relatively short notice. The remaining events in the calendar are listed below.

Fixtures and Events

Flying Fifteen Regional Events 2021

West Coast Championships: 23th & 24th May at Rosaveel Co Galway.

Championships of Ireland: 27th, 28th and 29th August at  SLYC Whiterock.

East Coast Championships:18th  & 19th  September at NYC,  Dub Laoghaire

South Coast Championships: 9 & 10th October Lough Derg Sailing Club, Dromineer Co Tippareary.

Other events to note are the following:

Dun Laoghaire Volvo Regatta: July  2nd, 3th and 4th

UK Nationals: 24th-27th June in Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club, Troon, Scotland. (Refer to UK Flying Fifteen website for other UK events)

Other Events:

  • 7-19th Feb 2022 : Pre Worlds and World Championships, Freemantle, Australia.
  • 20-26th Aug 2022: European Championships, Cowes , Isle of Wight (75th Anniversary of Flying Fifteen Class)

We shall remain positive and there is a lot to look forward to when and if the season starts. Be responsible, be safe and be kind!

Regards,

Chris.
