As you may have noticed, flyingfifteen.ie is undergoing a bit of a revamp. Aims are modest — to afford a facelift (budget permitting), to make it easier to keep current, and to showcase the fleet for prospective entrants.
I'm hoping that officers and fleet members at club and national level will make good use of the site by sending in updates, notices, and any other relevant material. If you are a regular contributor, or plan to become one, we can talk about filing and publishing material directly.
At the moment, this is a one-person operation, but I am not too proud to accept assistance. In particular, the site could do with input on graphic design, but any other help will also be appreciated.
Most importantly, of course, flyingfifteen.ie needs content, so if you have a great story to tell, a burning issue to get off your keyboard, or just a race report (must be kind to back markers), then please get in touch. We could also do with some pictures from recent events, if you have some lying about, and we can even do video.
The site as it stands could have a little more content and a lot more organization. Please bear with me while I find my way around and begin to put things where they properly belong. The transferring of material from the old site has to be done manually, on the fly, so if you see an excruciating typo or misspelling, or a libel, please let me know! Also, if you see material that needs crediting, especially pictures such as the brilliant Killyleagh panorama gracing the home page, please shout.
In the meantime, I will be very happy to hear of ideas, suggestions and of course criticisms.
- Note: I'm guessing already that this version of flyingfifteen.ie won't render properly in the dreaded Internet Explorer Version 6. This is entirely the fault of Microsoft. Solution — download a later IE version or switch to Mozilla Firefox or another browser
