The FFAI committee is pleased to announce the return of the rolling ranking system that was part of Irish FF racing up until the pandemic. This return was specifically requested at the AGM and we have carried out this task as requested by the members. The full details of the ranking mechanism are laid out on the website (ranking protocol) but in brief: the previous 4 regional events are included with one discard and the Championship of Ireland is given an additional 50% weighting. The fleet is then divided into gold/silver/bronze using the proportions 45%/30%/25%. The current ranking is available to view below and includes a total of 44 different boats which competed in the ranking events last year. This rolling ranking will be used at all of the regional events this year to divide the fleet – any boat coming to the event not previously ranked will be asked to self-allocate in advance.
